Hair in the DR

This is a post I found on my beloved Black Girl With Long Hair. Something that the writer of this post said struck me. She admitted to going natural twice before this final time, not because she felt that it was right but feeling from other people’s influence that she was lower class because of her hair and that is the feeling she gets from the people in the Dominican Republic, especially after a conversation with a 13-year-old girl who became upset at the idea of being natural.

Interesting post.
